That's why Subaru and our retailers partner with the Arbor Day Foundation (TM) to provide and distribute 100,000 regionally appropriate trees across the country. We're proud to establish the largest corporate tree distribution ever. Through this and other Subaru Loves the Earth initiatives, Subaru and our retailers have helped distribute and plant over 1.1 million trees.

That's why for the past 10 years, Subaru and its retailers like us have partnered with Blood Cancer United® and our local hospital or cancer treatment center to give warm blankets and encouraging messages of hope, written by our staff and customers to support patients facing cancer. Through our efforts during this decade-long partnership, we've supported nearly 500,000 cancer patients nationwide. Together, we are proud to be Blood Cancer United's largest automotive donor.
Subaru and its retailers, like us, are continuing our support of education and high-needs schools in our communities through Subaru Loves Learning(R) by providing teachers across the country with funding to purchase the school supplies and resources they know are needed to help students thrive in the classroom.

Subaru believes all pets deserve a loving home. That's why retailers like us partner with our local animal welfare organization every October to provide direct financial assistance through a grant distributed by the ASPCA® and host pet events to help animals find loving homes. Through our partnership with local and national organizations, Subaru has donated over $70 million, supporting the rescue, adoption, and health of over 700,000 animals. We're proud to be the largest corporate donor to the ASPCA.

Subaru and its retailers believe in giving back to our communities. That's why for every new vehicle sold or leased during the Subaru Share the Love event, Subaru and its retailers, like us, makes a donation to national charities that our owners care about and to over 2,700 local charities where Subaru owners live and work.

At Vann York Subaru, we believe every student deserves the tools they need to learn, grow, and succeed. That’s why we are proud to partner with Subaru and AdoptAClassroom.org to make learning more accessible for local students and to show appreciation for the teachers who dedicate their lives to education. For the last two years our team had the privilege of adopting classrooms at Charles W. McCrary Elementary School. The school received flexible funding totaling $5000, along with curated school supply kits filled with essentials that help teachers stretch their resources further. But we wanted to do more than simply deliver supplies and funding. We wanted to bring a smile to the teachers who give so much to their students every single day. So, our team surprised them with Dunkin’ Donuts gift cards as a special thank you for their hard work and dedication. To make the moment even more meaningful, our General Manager brought along his daughter, who will be starting kindergarten this fall, to help hand out the gift cards. Her excitement reminded us all of the true purpose behind this effort — supporting children as they begin their educational journey. Seeing the joy and gratitude on the teachers’ faces as we presented them with certificates of classroom adoption, supply kits, and tokens of appreciation was an unforgettable experience. It reinforced why Subaru is proud to be AdoptAClassroom.org’s largest corporate supporter, having helped more than 950,000 students nationwide through this program over the past five years. At Vann York Subaru, we are committed to living out the Subaru Love Promise by caring for the communities we serve. Helping others strengthens communities, which is why Vann York Subaru is partnering with Operation Warm®, a national nonprofit focused on connecting children with the resources they need to thrive. Through this partnership and other Subaru Loves to Help® efforts, Subaru and retailers like Vann York Subaru have helped nearly 900,000 children and adults in urgent need. On 01/17/2025, Vann York Subaru donated 204 coats to Communities in Schools - Randoph County. These essential items not only help keep children protected, warm, and dry, it can have a significant impact on a child's mental and emotional well-being.
Sharing Warmth, Love, and Hope at Cone Health Cancer Center - Zack F.
At Vann York Subaru, we believe there is more to do other than just sell cars. That belief drives our commitment to the Subaru Love Promise and our long-standing partnership with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® (LLS). For the past 10 years, Subaru and us have worked side-by-side with LLS to bring comfort and hope to those facing blood cancers like leukemia, lymphoma, and myeloma. By the end of this year, we’re proud to say this nationwide effort will have supported nearly 500,000 cancer patients—making Subaru LLS’s largest automotive donor. As part of this initiative, on June 24th, our Vann York Subaru team visited the Cone Health Cancer Center in Asheboro, NC, to share warmth and encouragement with patients undergoing treatment. We brought with us 80 custom, heart-shaped blankets and heartfelt messages of hope, each signed with care by our staff and customers. One moment from the day that deeply touched us was meeting Joe, an 83-year-old patient from Liberty, NC. Joe shared that he recently lost his wife this past November. Despite his personal challenges, he greeted us with warmth and gratitude, expressing how much the gesture meant to him. “Keep up the good work,” he told us. His words were simple but powerful—reminding us why this mission matters. Blood cancer is diagnosed approximately every three minutes in the U.S., and for many, the journey through treatment can be physically and emotionally overwhelming. But together—with our customers, our community, and partners like LLS—we’re helping patients know they are not alone. At Vann York Subaru, we’re proud to do more than sell cars—we’re proud to share love, compassion, and hope when it’s needed most.

On May 8, 2025, Vann York Subaru proudly donated over $14,000 to the Family Crisis Center through the Subaru Share the Love Event. This contribution reflects more than just a financial gift—it represents our deep commitment to the safety, healing, and empowerment of individuals and families in our community. The Family Crisis Center, founded in 1978, has been a lifeline for those facing unimaginable hardships—providing critical resources, shelter, and advocacy for survivors of domestic violence, child abuse, human trafficking, and other traumatic experiences. “Thanks to Vann York Subaru, we can continue helping adults and children who are coming out of incredibly difficult situations,” said Stephanie Phillips, Board Member of the Randolph County Family Crisis Center. “Their support means we can keep advocating, supporting, and fighting for those who need us most.” At Vann York Subaru, we believe in more than selling vehicles—we believe in driving change. We recently gathered with our employees and Communities in Schools of Randolph County on a heartfelt mission: to bring warmth to our community. Thanks to the generosity and dedication of our team, we collected over 200 coats to distribute to customers, community members, and students in the Asheboro school system. As the sun rose over Saint Luke’s United Methodist Church, families and students from Asheboro began to arrive. Excitement filled the air as students, eager to find a warm coat for the season, were greeted with smiles and kindness. Each child received a coat—ensuring they would be a little warmer this winter. We extend a sincere thank you to the Asheboro school system for their support and for helping bring students to the event. At Vann York, we are always happy to help—and proud to stand alongside our community.

Here at Vann York have made it our annual tradition to run a social media post where anyone can post a photo of their pet and we will donate one pound of food per photo. We donated over 1700 lbs of dog and cat food yesterday to Randolph Animal Shelter. In our two years we have donated over 3500lbs of food. We took four Subaru's full yesterday and loaded up the supply room at the Shelter

On Friday, June 14th, 2024, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society® (LLS) North Carolina-Virginia Region had the opportunity to help Vann York Subaru deliver 80 blankets and patient care kits to Cone Health Cancer Center at Asheboro as part of the Subaru Loves to Care® program. The blankets were accompanied by personalized messages of hope written by customers and staff of Vann York Subaru. These gifts were warmly received not only by the staff and patients but also by a media representative from a local news station in the Triad. Greg York, President, Vann York Auto Group, was interviewed about why Subaru made this generous donation and how the company enjoys giving back to their community. It was a wonderful day, and heartfelt thanks to Vann York Subaru for joining the LLS mission.
